Applications
We encourage candidates with a strong background in financial modeling to apply to our Investment Research division. Students who have some form of previous finance experience to encouraged to apply to our Academy program.
By applying to our Investment Research division, you are automatically considered for Investment Academy. Similarly, by submitting an application for Investment Academy, you are automatically considered for GIS Explore. You will only need to submit one application overall.

The Explore division of GIS serves as an introductory platform for students to build a foundation of financial knowledge. Throughout the semester, students will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of investing, the stock market, and the various career opportunities in the finance industry. The sessions include interactive lectures, discussions, and more.

The Investment Academy is a semester-long curriculum where students develop the basic skillset of investing. The program covers topics like accounting, financial modeling, valuation methodologies, as well as Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Students who perform well in the Academy program are prioritized for the Investment Research division.

The Investment Research Program is GIS’s flagship division. The division features 25 members across 5 investment teams. Each team publishes 2 professional investment research reports a semester presented to an Investor Committee. Application cycles occur at the end of every semester for Academy applicants, and the start of every semester for new members.

The Mentorship program guides students to achieve careers in Investment Banking and the Buy-Side. Open to prospective sophomores interested in a career in Finance.
